Mission Statement

Dedicated equally to the advancement of fine writing and to outreach programs that bring this art to underserved communities, CavanKerry Press (CKP), a not-for-profit publisher, specializes in poetry and prose by authentic, disparate voices.  CavanKerry creates a community of readers by publishing emotionally daring books relevant to their lives, and by providing programming to them where they live, work and receive services.

We publish at least two first collections each year, and at least one title exploring the lived experience of illness, as well as titles by accomplished but under-recognized authors.  We strive to create a community in which writers help each other promote their books by sharing resources and expertise.  We support that community by offering unparalleled marketing support, including print advertising and a Marketing Mentor.
